I am in the process of getting my real estate license and my plan is start part time only because I have to have my full time income to pay my bills. Will I be successful enough part time, starting out, to eventually move into a full time position? Also, which company is best in helping new agents succeed?

How do I go about getting "group" insurance?
I am a cab driver in Honolulu, Hawaii, and I USED to carry "personal" health insurance through Kaiser Permanente and was paying $336/mo. I used it twice in two years, the last time I paid $20 co-pay for the doctor visit, $74 for medication. On the "personal" plan there is no "pharmacy", I have to pay 100% for my meds. I got upset and terminated my health insurance. Why was I paying $336/month, and I use it once that last year, and I had to pay almost $100 just to see the doctor!!????!!!
July 23rd, I was assaulted and robbed, and ended up in the hospital. I had fractures on both eye orbits, and had to have surgery to fix the fractures so my eyeball wouldn’t drop through the fractures in the orbit, a collapsed upper right lobe of my lung, 2 fractured ribs, and a concussion. The 10 days in the hospital cost was as follows:
Hospital stay and ER cost: $43,000
Plastic surgery to repair orbit fractures: $6,800.
MRI’s, CT scan, and X-rays : $1,800.
Most self-employed people like us cabbies, real estate agents, and others have no "employers" to pay or subsidize our health insurance. After what happened to me, I wouldn’t want anyone to have to go through what I went through financially.
I would like to get a "group" together of cab drivers, and other independant self-employed people so we could get a better health plan because we’re a "group" rather than individually paying for a "personal" health plan that has very few benefits.
Any suggestions? I know Health care varies from state to state, so if anyone knows about Hawaii please help!
(PS. The same guy that assaulted and robbed me, three weeks later raped and killed an 18 y/o girl and left her nude body in an alley — Cops got him and he’s awaiting trial now for the murder. At least he’s off the streets and can’t hurt anyone else!)
I guess the question should read: "How do I go about organizing a "group" of people that are not "employee’s" to get a better health plan with better coverage with the "Group health insurance" rate rather than the skimpy "personal" health insurance plans that prey on the "Self-employed" that charge outrageous premiums for minimal coverage just because it’s a PERSONAL health coverage policy. Not fair!

How Important Is A Birth Certificate For Settling An Estate?
Mom is in her 80’s and is making plans for her passing. Dad left everything in a big mess when he died and mom wants to spare us kids that. Mom was born in Japan and her birth certificate is written in some form of Japanese that no one seems able to translate anymore. Is a birth certificate necessary to settle an estate? She has naturalization papers, a passport, and a driver’s license. Thanks for any help, I hate to see her so worried about this.
I’ve been wrongly accused?
Hi and thanks for all future help. My friend is a big pot head and all of his friends know.
Yesterday, my other friend’s dad came up to him and said that he knows friend #1 is a pothead. When friend #2 asked his dad who gave him this information he said a real estate agent friend of his.
The problem is, my dad is a real estate agent. so without any proof, friend #1 concluded that i must have sold him out.
The biggest problem, however, is that he has a lot of contacts. he has basically turned the whole school against me. all of my "friends" are now against me, for something I didnt do.
I was thinking of going to friend #2’s house when he wasnt there and talking to his dad, explain the situation, and try to get him to give the name of the realtor. I have a little voice recorder that fits in my pocket for evidence.
Should I do this? Or should I take another plan of action? Please help the school is a warzone to me i need to clear my name.
Does it make sense to buy life insurance to pay high federal estate (death) taxes?
Assuming a person has a $1 Million (or even $2 Million) net worth, the argument I’ve heard is that the retiree (or near retiree) can take 1% of the investable portfolio and purchase life insurance; upon death, the life insurance death benefit (NOT TAXED) goes to pay the death taxes, thereby preserving the estate for the heirs (for a married couple, upon the death of the ’second-to-die’ spouse).
For a married couple, since you don’t know who the "second to die" will be, both of the married people need this type of retirement and estate planning.
Lastly, as you may be aware, the federal estate (death) tax is fully repealed in 2010 but then comes back "full blown" in 2011 with a 55% tax rate. If pending legislation for 2010 is approved, it may come back in 2010 with a $5 million exemption and a 35% tax rate. Obviously, if this latter bill is signed into law, my question above would pertain to those who are anticipating having more than $5 Million in taxable assets beyond the present day (since the date of death is unknown) and, yet, the amount of life insurance needed would slightly decrease since the estate (death) tax rate of 35% would not be as high as the 2009 rate of 45%.

Help !!! Analyze this legal issue … (California)?
This is a text from a retirement plan administrator of the deceased citizen from CALIFORNIA name Bryan
A." If no benificiary designation is on file , the Retirement Plan provides a benificiary that will be determied in the following order of priority: (1) surviving spouse or domestic partner; (2) surviving children ; (3) surviving parents; (4) the participant’s estate. In reviewing our records I could not find that Bryan had appointed any benificiary under the Retirement Plan."
B. " As we do not have a benificiary designation form on file for Bryan, under the benificiary designation provisions of the Retirement Plan, Mark as Bryan’s domestic partner, is entitled to receive the survivor annuity benifits"
Is this the correct distribution of Bryan’s retirement plan. ? (CALIFORNIA). Anybody please help.
